Sweet and dynamic, Tours has it all, but other pretty towns may have some great surprises in store for you. Listed as a town of art and history, Chinon and Loches are imbued with a medieval atmosphere. How pleasant it is to stroll there to reach the royal fortress of the first, and the royal city of the second!

On the banks of the Loire river, Amboise is obviously not to be outdone, rightly proud of being home to the castels that hosted François 1er as well as Leonardo da Vinci.

In the 16th century, the Florentine ambassador Francesco Florio called the region “Jardin de la France“. Thanks to the presence of important abbeys, powerful lords and kings, it has been cultivated with style. Medieval gardens, inspired by the Italian Renaissance, “à la Française“, “English” or contemporary, all gardeners’ schools are represented.

You can browse the castles of the Loire, Blois, Amboise, Villandry, and their French-style flowerbeds. As well as the more contemporary Festival of the Château de Chaumont sur Loire. A wide variety of styles will allow you to lose yourself in these settings conducive to meditation, relaxation and well-being.

Magnificent 3 km-walk along the Cher river on foot or by bike from the Domaine de l'Isle. Built on the Cher, whose waters reflect the unique beauty of its Renaissance architecture, the Château de Chenonceau is the jewel of the Loire Valley.

Dominated by its iconic 36-meter keep built by Foulques Nerra, Count of Anjou, at the beginning of the 11th century. One of the largest in Europe, but also one of the best preserved. A model of military architecture, it was transformed into a royal prison by Louis XI.
